[ Stepping back to steady up as he's bumped into, an arm protectively holds onto Alex so that she also didn't fall from the collision. He's oddly still and reserved compared to usual, but looking up she'll see his ears down in a droop instead of being pinned back.

She could also feel how much the chill had stuck to his clothes and skin, though he showed no signs of being cold. ]

[ The admission was embarrassing, but it was better that he explained why he was caught outside. ]

The door doesn't open from this side...

[Alex looks up at him, shocked that he was right there. With his ears drooped and his embarrassment, just some of things she found endearing about him, Alex started to tear up. She'd almost lost that. Her arms go up and pull him into a tight hug.]

I thought you left me...! I thought..I thought you were really gone..!

[She might be squeezing him a little too tightly now, gripping at his cold shirt, but she'd just apologize for that later.]

[ If the squeeze was too tight, Shizuo didn't show any sign of it. Instead he just wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin on the top of her head. ]

I mean, I did leave, but it was to get some air. Then when I came back the door was locked and you were sleeping, so...

[ Sliding his head off the top of her head, he instead nuzzles into the size of it. ]

Sorry for scaring you.

[When he doesn't push her away or reject her touch, Alex let's out a sigh of relief. She turns to look at him cupping the side of his face. It's then that she notices just how cold his skin feels.]

Oh my god, you're freezing! Come on, let's go back inside.

[She leads him in by the hand, closing the door behind them.]

Do you want to take a bath? Or do you just want me to grab some warm clothes for you?

[ He's led inside without protesting, though having a look of confusion on his face. He must have gotten used to it because inside the apartment was warm and was quickly giving him a prickly feeling along the skin. ]

I feel fine, though. Besides, it's easier to warm up against other people.

[ He learned that practicality from living on the streets with other strays. ]

[Normally she'd say something about that, but she doesn't this time. Instead, he leads her to the bedroom, pulling back the covers.]

Here. Climb in.

[ Following behind, when Alex says to get in, Shizuo's ears perk forward. After a moment, he takes the outside clothes, being the shoes and jacket, off before getting onto the bed. It already felt pretty warm, so Alex must've woken up pretty recently, as far as he can tell. ]

[She smiles when she finally sees those cute ears perk up. Once he's done and gets into the bed, she sleeps in next to him, throwing an arm over his middle and snuggling against his shoulder.]

Is this warm enough?

Mm.

[ He settles, wrapping his arms around her as his tail starts to curl over them and he tries to get one of his legs between her. Ready to settle the side of his face into the crook of her neckpart of him just hopes that she doesn't get one of those dreams that'll upset her again. ]

It's starting to be. This kind of thing takes a bit to really sink in.

[She let's him slide his leg between hers, resting her chin on top of his head. Alex actually preferred to hug or curl up around something when she slept, so this felt nice. Her hand reaches up to stroke his hair from behind his head, letting out a contented sigh.]

I'm sorry about earlier..Whenever you said those things...I've been taking them lightly. I didn't realize how much it meant to you.

[ And he's been wanting to cuddle close against her warm body since she had taken him in. So finally being able to, and getting pet, has him purring lazily. ]

Well, as long as you get that it's actually one of the most important things now...

[ As in, Alex was one of his most important things. ]

The way you said it, I was starting to think you didn't want me to be attached or claim you.

[She gently played with one of his ears between her fingers, quite enjoying that purr of his.]

I don't mind you being attached to me at all.

[It made her happy to have someone want to be around her.]

Um..about the claiming thing though..so when you say that..See, with humans, that'd mean something like..being together..or dating or being married. But it's a different thing for cats, right..?

[She wanted to at least clarify.]

We are together.

[ See, this is the stuff that starts confusing him. If they weren't cuddled together, and Alex wasn't playing with his ears (which twitched through her fingers from the tickling sensation,) he'd get worked up. Right now he wanted to stay like this. ]

It means I want to be with you forever. It's why I said before, if you wanted more, like sex, I'll do it. Because I want to do anything with you.

[That..made things a little clearer. She wasn't sure if he was just attached to her like a pet would to its owner..or if he actually wanted to be with her. Though according to him, they already were together. Forever..had a nice ring to it though.]

Usually you confess first before being considered "together."

[She chuckles softly against his hair.]

[ It was sort of the same in this case. All of it was, and now he was just starting to get her to understand that a little better. Which is why he was starting to sound more content and relaxed at this point. ]

I did when I started saying you were mine and you never said anything against it. In fact, I think you said that it sounded nice.

..Because I didn't know that's what you meant.

[She mumbles. Feeling rather embarrassed about that now.]

And that's not really a confession..

Well, I guess the kind of confession you want is a human thing.

[ Because he thought what he's said has been enough. Now that they're more comfortable, he slips his hands under her shirt to lay against her back. Because those are still cold and he's really warming up now. ]

I guess--EEK!

[Alex jolts in surprise when she feels those cold hands against her skin.]

C-cold..!

[It's a good thing she didn't end up pinching his ear.]

[ His hands dig in just a little as his ears flick back from that reaction. Which probably isn't the best response, given what caused her to make that kind of sound, but he couldn't help it. ]

Sorry? My hands weren't getting warm...

[Yet under her shirt his hands remained.]

It's..okay...

[She shivered, the sudden cold spreading. She pulled him closer though, a bit worried the rest of him was that cold.]

[ He said it was the best way to warm up. Honestly, it'd work faster between her thighs or something, but he got the feeling she'd object to that. He's noticing that shiver, though. How was this having the opposite effect? ]

... Y'sure?

[ He knew when things were chilly, just as he knew when things were warm, but he was never particularly able to tell when he was really cold or hot. ]

Maybe..if you rub your hands.

[Friction made things warmer right?]

Ah... Right.

[ For better or worse, Alex, he's now rubbing his hands up and down the entire length of your back. ]

[Bad idea. Bad idea

Her body pressed more into his when he started to do that, her eyes widening.]

W-wait! N-not like that..!

[Alex's body shuddered as the sensation passed through her body.]

[ And then his nails get snagged on something. Though he couldn't tell if he got the shirt or a bra strap stuck on him. Just that he didn't like getting caught up like that. ]
