[ He wanted to go back up front, but he was feeling thoroughly chastised at the moment. ]

Do you want me to stay back here?

[Somehow she got the feeling he felt bad..and that made her feel bad.]

No..You can stay behind the counter. You'll still have a pretty good view of the stage from there.

[At least that can somewhat separate people from him. She goes to grab her clothes, opting to change in the bathroom so he doesn't need to step out again. When she comes out again she'll be in a dress that suits the bar a bit more than just the uniform.]

Do you want anything before I head up? I can ask for food if you'd like.

[She asks as she fixes up her hair into a braid.]

[ At him being allowed behind the counter again, his expression almost looks reproachful, not wanting her to change her mind. Enough where he'll stay in place instead of sitting right outside the bathroom door as he usually did.

To the question, Shizuo just shakes his head. ]

Nah. Not really hungry.

[ He didn't want to intrude more, or get her in trouble because of the disruption and her having an animal be fed inside. Or however those kinds of rules go. He also pockets his hands in an attempt to resist the urge for fixing her hair himself. Just because, when it comes to braids, he never seems to 'fix' them right. ]

[Ah..he still felt bad. Alex takes his hand in hers, squeezing it a bit in an attempt to comfort him.]

Let’s head back then.

[She leads him back to the counter, at least making sure he had water before heading to the stage. On her way there she’d glance back at him, hesitant about leaving him alone. Thankfully, she could see him from up where she’s standing.

The lights dim and the music starts to play. With how she kept looking over at him, it was like it was him she was singing to. Not that she thought anyone would notice.]

[ Cats can be mopey for a bit, but her taking his hand helped ease it up a bit. The mood didn't stop his hyper-alert nature, however. Despite how things went before, his eyes stayed following Alex up until she got onto the stage.

It was watching her perform that made him forget that he was sulking, as the song went on his ears relaxed and perked forward with his full attention on his human. By the time her set was done, the fact that he was chastised, or even that someone suggested calling animal control to give him the 'stray cat' treatment, was completely forgottten. ]

[She bows when she finishes, then descends from the stage. On her way back to the bar, she’s stopped by a few if the customers to talk. Being costumers, she can’t say no, but she glances at Shizuo to give him an apologetic smile. Her intention was to go straight to him after all. ]

[ Well, he at least learned his lesson this time. Instead of getting fed up and trying to break things apart, no matter what they both might want, he stays behind the counter. Well, now he's resting his arms and head on the counter, watching Alex with his full attention while waiting. ]

[After a bit more chatter and some hugs and pats on the shoulder, she was finally set free. She walked briskly towards Shizuo, not wanting to get stopped again.]

Hey,

[She smiles at him, a little out of breath. Being near him gave her some relief.]

How are you doing?

[ His head starts to pick up when it looks like Alex is finally able to come over. ]

Fine. I mean, I like watching you sing.

[ He didn't like the people crowding you after that. This certainly gave him a good idea as to how all those smells got on Alex when she was home from work. ]

[Out of all the compliments she got that night, Shizuo’s made her smile the most.]

Thank you, I’m glad you liked it.

[She reached out to put both her hands over his.]

....And thank you for being so patient.

[With one hand, she reaches up to stroke an ear affectionately.]

[ That's when it seemed that Shizuo was able to relax. With the contact and her starting to pet his ear, which he tilted his head to make easier for a few seconds, that proves to be very distracting for what he wanted to do. Not enough to stop what he wanted to say, though. ]

Well, I don't like the people here at all, but I do like watching you. I don't wanna be kicked out or in trouble and not allowed to watch you again.

[See? This was the side of him those customers didn’t see..and she hates that they judged him for that.]

One more hour. Just one more hour and we can go home.

I can wait that long.

[ Probably. Maybe. But for now he'll just lean his head towards Alex more for more affection. ]

[Her hand slides down to cup the side of his face.]

Thank you..

[She pulls away, letting him know she was just going to change back into her uniform then go straight back to serving drinks.]

As soon as that hour is up we’ll head home, I promise.

[Alex didn’t work this many hours before actually, but now that she was providing for two, she needed the cash. Not once did it bother her though. He made it worth it.]

[ And he had no clue that she took on more to afford supporting him. Partially because he never questioned how things were before he showed up. ]

I won't cause more trouble.

[ Not when there's only an hour left. He can wait, watch Alex, and behave for that final amount of time. ]

[Knowing Shizuo was watching her made Alex want to work even harder. Tips helped big time too. She ended up serving more drinks than she normally did. Before she knew it, the hour was up.

It was funny how even when Shizuo was there with her, allshe wanted was to be home with him. It was the same thought she had when he would wait for her at home. She takes his hand in hers, tugging him towards the back exit.]

Let’s go home, Shizuo.

[ As quickly as the house passed, it also felt like forever. So it wasn't soon enough that Alex was done and ready to leave. Slinking over to her side, his hand tightens in hers as his tail flicked contentedly back and forth. ]

Gladly. You don't have to tell me twice.

[ He didn't even need to be tugged, glad to get Alex away from here and to clean off all those people's smells from her. ]

[The walk home was more of a run, but it was kind of fun. It made getting home more exciting. When they finally got through the door, Alex was breathless but laughing.]

We..probably should have..gone slower.

[ While Alex was breathless, Shizuo was beside her with a grin. Not just because they got away and got home, but because the walk home was fun. ]

I could've carried you if it was too much.

[ But he'll be quick to take that bag and everything. ]

Here, go get a shower and clean that place off of you. I'll even stay out here instead of right at the door.

It's fine..I needed...the exercise.

[She takes a deep breath and straightens up from how she was crouched over, holding her knees. Alex let's him take the bag this time, giving him a grateful nod.]

Yeah....Hey, I don't smell bad do I?

[Sure, sometimes the smell of cigarettes could stick to her clothes, but she didn't think she was giving off any strong scents.]

Not bad...

[ He didn't want to suddenly make her feel self conscious about it all. ]

I just don't want their smells on you anymore.

[She can't help but sniff at her arm to check.]

Mm..if you say so..I'll uh, try.

[She knew dogs had a keen sense of smell, but did cats have them too? Hopefully she manages to wash it off well enough-- not that Alex thought it was a big deal. It just seemed to bother Shizuo quite a bit.]

[ It usually didn't, either. It was the fact that he watched where some of those smells came from, which was what had him act so pushy.

At least he kept his word. When Alex comes out of the bathroom, he'll be sitting further off and on actual furniture this time, having obviously been staring intently at the door until she came out. ]

That's better.

[She comes out with a towel around her neck, spotting the cat on the couch. Well that was a first. ]

Yeah?

[She walks over and takes a seat next to him, rewarding him by combing through his hair.]

What did you think? Was it less boring at least?

[ To which he's happy to lean more against her, tilting his head down so it was easier for her to comb through it. ]

It was, but I didn't like the way some of the customers were. I wanna come along, but I don't want to get you in trouble...
